Mary-Kate Olsen and Ashley Fuller Olsen - American Actresses and Businesswomen - were born on June 13, 1986 in Sherman Oaks, Los Angeles, California, USA. The Olsen Twins are best known for their role as Michelle Tanner from the TV sitcom Full House. Although many people think they are identical twins, they are actually fraternal twins. Throughout their work in television, movies, interviews and even commercial endorsements, the Olsen twins appear and work together although there are a few exceptions.

Olsens' Beginnings

The Olsen Twins were hired for the TV series Full House in 1987 at the age of six months and began filming the show at nine months. The twins took turns during tapings in order to comply with strict child labor laws. Mary-Kate had more screen time in the first season because Ashley would cry when brought on set. The show's producers originally did not want people to know that twins were used for the role of Michelle Tanner, so their name was originally shown on-screen as "Mary Kate Ashley Olsen".
